Procedures of Approximation and Permanence – A night walk

This urban intervention is an invitation for sharing some of the research procedures which compose the basis of perceiving the city, and from this raw material collected, transform it into artistic dance works (plays, videos, performances, installations and so on). It is part of an ongoing practice carried out by the artist Michele Carolina with Coletivo Ruínas, a transdisciplinary collective from São Paulo, Brazil. São Paulo city has over 12 million inhabitants. Reykjavík city has over 122 thousand inhabitants. How does this singular reality affect bodies?

Each one of us is from a different city in the world, and supported by the fact that we are molded by the place where we live in, how do we feel in Reykjavík city? How could each one of us communicate to each other as a shoal, without words? How do we sense the ecosystem transitions of the city? From more urbanized to more natural places, and also the impact of architecture in urban daily life.

A collective silent night walk is chance to experiment a performative act together. After the walk we gather to share impressions and sensations.
